Back in 2000 nobody in Brighton sold the clothes that we wanted to wear.. so with a couple of hundred quid in our back pocket and a lot of determination we opened our doors to the discerning people of Brighton for the first time..

Everybody involved in Peggs & son has a passion for decent clobber- be it a jean made of the finest Japanese selvage, shirting from Scandinavia or shoes made by the hands of British craftsmen.

Given the choice of looking like we have just walked out of an All Saints dressing room, or looking a bit like our granddad, we’ll take the tweed and elbow patch route every time.. essentially we want to go about our daily business wearing decent, understated, detailed clothing. Nothing wrong with a bit of fashion and keeping yourself smart.

Bukowski, the old salt, wrote ‘Style is the answer to everything..to do a dull thing with style is preferable to doing a dangerous thing without style’ and we quite agree..

Fashions of British youth movements over the last Century have shaped the way we dress. All have been innovative in combining styles and clothing from abroad with traditional, locally produced gear. Its something we are good at and here at Peggs & son, we celebrate that.
